I was ten years old with four rotating businesses under my belt. They were immature businesses, but businesses nonetheless. I ran a lemonade stand in July, a car wash in August, a cleaning service in the fall — that business had only one client, shoutout to my mom — and I sold candy door-to-door in the spring.
That feeling of going to the ice cream truck without asking your parents for a dollar was everything!
By my eleventh birthday, that feeling didn’t mean as much. I found goals bigger than ice cream, candy, and toys when my brother came home from college that summer and left his business book. I read it cover to cover, which completely changed how I view finances.
After reading that textbook, I spent years becoming financially literate and dreaming of adulthood so I could take everything I loved about business and personal finance to that next level.
Fast-forward to today. That book played a large part in my wife and I being able to pay off our cars, purchase a home, live solely off invested income for the last year, and so much more.
That one resource was life-changing. It’s everything I want this newsletter to be for you.
