💡 The Problem
6/10 people fail at budgeting, but it’s not because you’re bad with money…
It’s because you’re using a strict system that doesn’t fit your real life.
You’re tracking every dollar, but your budget should be flexible and allow life to happen.
🎯 The Point
To stick to a budget, you need a flexible system that bends when life does.
One that helps you:
Cover your essentials (housing, utilities, food, etc.)
Save and invest for future goals.
Track the nonessentials (shoes, clothes, outings, etc.)
In that order.
✅ The Solution: Try the 3-Bucket System
Instead of tracking every transaction and following your spending down to the penny, just put your spending into 3 categories. Like this:
Fixed Expenses: things that stay the same: rent/mortgage, bills, debt payments
Future You: investing, emergency fund, etc.
Flexible Spending: groceries, dining, gas, subscriptions, etc.
Pro tips:
Budget in that exact order—it will change your life.
Set caps for the second and third buckets—do not spend more than your cap.
A Word of Encouragement
Your budget shouldn’t be a burden.
It should be a help-mate, something that helps you stay in control—even when life isn't.
