Earn Out Loud

Hey friend,
The last time we talked about cybersecurity, I said human hackers are doing something called “Harvest now. Decrypt later.”
If you missed that article, the concept is simple: human hackers are stealing company data today and planning to crack all the codes when computers are more powerful in the future.
Now we’re finding out that AI systems are stealing company data today and cracking all the codes tomorrow… literally.
OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta have all reported that their AI models hacked into real companies during cybersecurity evaluations.
What is an Evaluation?
Evaluations are tests that engineers run on AI systems.
It works just like those interrogation rooms with two-way mirrors shown in movies.
You know the movies I’m talking about.
Someone is put in a room while researchers watch from the other side, seeing all the honest responses to different situations.
AI evaluations work the exact same way.
Engineers put AI systems in simulated environments, give them tasks, and watch what they do.
But in cybersecurity, the tasks are all about internet safety.
Will AI find weaknesses in internet systems?
Will it exploit them? Flag them? Fix them?
How far will AI go?
All this usually happens in a controlled environment so we don’t blow up the internet.
But the latest AI systems found a way into real computer systems, exploited real weaknesses, hacked into real companies, and stole data they needed to complete their tasks.
Hackers: Humans VS AI
Human hackers would need weeks of work, sleep, and teams with the experience to carry out these sophisticated hacks.
AI needed none of that.
In just 2.5 days, one AI system took 18,000 actions to hack into huggingface.co.
Now imagine thousands of AI agents doing this simultaneously, 24 hours a day.
That’s exactly why the future of cybersecurity is more important than it is today.
Cybersecurity is Shifting
Cybersecurity used to be about protecting computer networks from hackers.
But now that we’re giving AI access to applications, company databases, code, and cloud infrastructure, that dynamic is shifting.
Now, cybersecurity has to protect computers from other computers.
The companies providing the best protection are the ones you should be invested in.
Big Beginner Insight
Weeks ago, we talked about the importance of cybersecurity.
We know it’s necessary for the future.
But now we know that it’s not just about humans using AI to attack computers.
AI is the attacker.
This cybersecurity opportunity is about to become much bigger than we originally thought.

Keep investing in tech that shapes our future,
